Carolyn has a passion for working with adults. She feels it is a privilege to be part of your healing and growth journey. She understands each person has their own story. This is why Carolyn is trained in a variety of modalities such as: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Symptoms, (IFS) and Somatic Therapy.
Carolyn has personal experience with Chronic illness, Chronic pain and being a caregiver for both adults and a child. Along with her personal experience in these areas she has specialized her training for Chronic illness and Medical trauma utilizing EMDR. She completed training as a Grief Educator.
Carolyn received her Master’s Degree from Liberty University (Virginia) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With over 20 years in the mental health profession, she has a wide variety of experience which expands in treating populations with Anxiety, Acute or Prolonged Trauma, Grief and Loss, Chronic Illness, Depression, Life Transitions, and Women’s Issues.
She continues to be involved in the community as Clinical Director for Case Managers and Education and as a Clinical Crisis Worker. She can be found on social media @therapywithcarolynsmith. Carolyn grew up in San Diego however she now calls Utah her home. She raises chickens and is a puppy mom. She loves family time, reading, and having dance parties with all types of music.
